Shopping for bras isn’t a fun activity for Alice. She’s always been self-conscious about the size of her bust line. When at work, talking to men, she noticed that their eyes tended to go there and they seem to stop listening. Her other problem is finding a cup size big enough for her, so she typically settles for whatever a store has.
Alice is interested in finding out what the bra specialist recommends and if there is in fact a bra that’ll work for her body.
Shopping For Bras -- Measurement
The bra specialist measured Alice’s ribcage as 35 inches and her bust line as 42 inches. Looking at her chart, the specialist determined Alice’s bra size to be 38G. Alice was surprised because she had been wearing a 40DDD. The bra specialist explained to Alice that the cup size for a 38G bra is the same as a 40DDD or F bra. The problem with her former bra is that the band is too big; it doesn’t support Alice as well as it should. With Alice being larger busted, it’s important to have a proper fitted band because that’s where all the support is created. The specialist also said many women make the same mistake and wear a bra band that isn’t too big.
Shopping for Bras -- Breast Shape
The bra specialist noticed that Alice’s breast shape is round. Alice’s breasts are equally full at the top and bottom. This breast shape allows her to wear a wide variety of bras styles. The one thing she needs to consider is her breast firmness. The firmer she is the less coverage she needs and the less firm she is the more coverage she needs.
Shopping For Bras -- Type Of Bra
Alice is self-conscious about her large bust line and always gravitated to wearing minimizer bras with full coverage. Her friends told her they understood why she only wore this bra type especially during work hours. However, they said she should consider other bra types because she has the perfect shaped breasts to explore other types of bras.
The bra specialist brought Alice three categories of bras for her to try on: full coverage, minimizer and t-shirt. The specialist said she didn’t have any wireless bras in her size because most manufactures don’t make wireless bras with her cup size. However, she knows of a brand she can order if the bras don’t work for Alice.
Full Coverage Bra
Alice tried on full coverage bras first because the bra specialist wanted to make sure a 38G size bra fit her perfectly.
The specialist said if she ever wanted a wireless bra, the Glamorise bras carry wireless bras in her cup size. She recommended Full Figure Plus Size MagicLift Wirefree T-Shirt Bra.
Alice’s perspective about bras totally changed. First, all women should be professionally fitted for the right bra. Second, a variety of bras exist for different needs. Finally, bras can be comfortable: one just needs to find the right size and style.
Alice is learning she can love all parts of her body and can do this by wearing a bra that’s appropriate for the situation. When wearing the right size bra, she feels better supported, which surprisingly makes her feel better emotionally supported. This fact alone will carry across all parts of her life.
